A TIP for Bond ETF Investors Worrying About Inflation

Fixed-income investors who are anticipating a higher level of inflation in the years ahead have already been shifting into Treasury inflation-protected securities-related exchange traded funds. Over the past month, the iShares 7-10 Year Treasury Bond ETF (IEF) , which tracks U.S. Treasury bonds with remaining maturities between seven and ten years, suffered $1.4 billion in net outflows while the iShares TIPS Bond ETF (TIP) , which is composed of inflation-protected U.S. Treasury bonds, attracted $1.7 billion in net inflows.
