韩国总统尹锡悦(Yoon Suk Yeol)的政府宣布了一项新的高科技产业发展倡议，寻求在不晚于2026年引导大约4,220亿美元的民间资金投入半导体等关键行业。

尹锡悦说，该倡议的核心部分是支持民间企业投资总计300万亿韩圆，在2042年前建成预计是世界最大的系统半导体集群。
他说，该产业集群将位于靠近首都的京畿道，容纳五家先进制程芯片制造厂，以及大约150家生产工业半导体材料或部件，或设计和开发计算机芯片的公司。
去年上任的尹锡悦还承诺，将为全国14个新工业园区的建设提供税收优惠和其他政策支持。这些园区主要集中在半导体、平板显示器、电池、生物制药、未来汽车和机器人六个领域。
尹锡悦称，这一倡议是韩国努力维持其在半导体行业和其他高科技制造业的全球领导地位的一部分，尤其是在全球其他主要经济体纷纷采取行动以获得竞争优势的情况下。
