富国银行(Wells Fargo & Co., WFC)公布了一项为期10年的数字基础设施更新计划，部分内容是把工作量转移到微软(Microsoft Corp., MSFT)和Alphabet Inc. (GOOG)旗下谷歌的云服务上，这令其成为最新一家对公共云做出重大押注的大型银行。
富国银行的首席技术官Van Beurden表示，该行的目标是在10年后让其所有工作量都在公共云上运行。他说，云的优势在于速度、可扩展性和弹性。
Van Beurden不予透露该银行升级数字基础设施的相关费用。

Van Beurden表示，富国银行实现数字基础设施现代化的努力包括停用自己的数据中心，并将该行的一些应用程序转移到不予披露的第三方数据中心提供商。
富国银行正在与其他拥抱云计算并放弃自有数据中心的银行进行竞争。摩根士丹利(Morgan Stanley, MS)于6月表示，将把一些核心工作量转移到微软的Azure云平台。去年，Capital One Financial Corp. (COF)将其数据、应用和信息技术系统转移到了Amazon Web Services。
Van Beurden说，富国银行计划使用微软的Azure作为其主要公共云提供商，并让谷歌云提供关键业务服务，包括与人工智能相关的服务。
